ASHCOR Hires Ned Southwick
Director of Sales
Ned Southwick has joined the ASHCOR team as Director of Sales – Rockies & Bakken. He will oversee the Rockies and Bakken Regions which also extend into Montana, Wyoming and Utah. Ned has more than 20 years of experience working in the compression and combustion markets and has gained technical and strategic skills along the way. He respects that the flaring industry is a complex sales market where it is important to ensure win-win solutions for both companies involved in each transaction. Ned’s goal is to gain the trust of his customers and become their advisor in ensuring proper application of ASHCOR technology.
“Customers can expect ASHCOR equipment that is simply built to work and a company that is easy to work with,” says Ned. “Our customers can expect a high level of dedication from me and expect me to do what is right for them and their application.”
Ned served in the United States Coast Guard and later worked as a field service technician. These experiences have given him a “work ‘til the job is done” mentality. He is a team player and recognizes that there is no such thing as “not my job” when serving customers. You’ll likely catch Ned on the move – has no problem getting dirty with production personnel or having a high-level technician discussion with an engineering firm or purchasing manager in their office. He is a well-rounded asset to the ASHCOR sales team and will thrive in many areas. A personal touch to each sale is important to Ned and he is excited to “give [his] best efforts to take exceptional care of their business.”
Ned was attracted to ASHCOR thanks to the abundant talent within the company. He noticed various talents from large, well-known combustion and other oil and gas companies have chosen to make ASHCOR their home, and thinks bringing diverse experiences together has made the company willing and able to do things smarter and more effectively.
Ned believes that ASHCOR is in store for growth. “ASHCOR is a lean company that can make changes quickly and meet each customer’s needs with very little fuss,” he says. “I’m excited to see how this mindset can help give our team an advantage and make ASHCOR very competitive in the market.”
When it comes to looking toward the future with ASHCOR, Ned is committed is to building more than just a business. He has experienced mentorship from a few high caliber industry members in his professional career and is most looking forward to passing on the knowledge he has learned from them to the next generation of sales or service people with the intention to dominate their chosen markets.
Outside of his dedication to his work, Ned has another passion that speaks to his character. He is a volunteer at Community Food Share located in Louisville, Colorado. The organization sorts incoming food and distributes it to families and individuals in need. This volunteer commitment fulfills him personally and also gives back to his community.
Ned is happily married to his wife and best friend, Holly. They enjoy off-roading, camping, hiking and fishing. It is safe to say that Ned is a bit of an outdoor adventurer – when winter comes around they also snowshoe and cross-country ski together.
ASHCOR is pleased to welcome Ned to the team and is looking forward to seeing his commitment to using his skills to the company and customers’ advantage. “We expect great things to come from Ned and believe he will play a significant role in taking our company to the next level as we continue to grow, said Andy Smith, CEO of ASHCOR. “His values and goals align with ASHCOR’s overall mission, and we’re eager to see his knowledge, experience and skills put to great use for our customers.”
